After doing some research and contacting Samsung, I found out that the 37-inch model of the B650 LCD (LN37B650) has wide color enhancer 2 and the 40-inch model (LN40B650) has wide color enhancer 3. Does this mean the latter has better color accuracy or is it not significant?

Greetings

If they both sit on rec 709 ... then it makes no difference what so ever. Seen a number of the lcd units miss the 709 make though. They lose a sliver of the green to yellow area of the 709 gamut.

How would I know whether they both sit on rec 709? I haven't seen any professional calibration reports to compare and I'd like to know before buying if possible.

Greetings

unfortunately, you need test gear to confirm. :(

The samsung plasma sets seem to hit 709 easily ... or can be made to do so with their cms.

Not a slam dunk on the LCD side though. Have seen some that made it ... but others cut it off. Problem is ... if it is cut off from the start, no amount of tweaking will bring back colors it could never display in the first place.

Sounds like I'd be safer with the 40-inch, though I realize there are no guarantees.
