Hi all,
I am building a new home with a dedicated home theater room. The room has one window which will probably be covered with blackout shades and one set of French doors leading in from the house. The room is 19' by 25'6" with the window and door being approximately center of the 25' walls on opposite sides of the room. I want to put in a front projection system. I'm shooting for either a 100" or 106" 16:9 screen and a ceiling mounted projector mounted to an 8' ceiling. I will have about a $3000 budget. The screen will be on the wall 19' wall. I was wondering what your opinions are for the best setup under theses conditions. I am a relative noob to FP systems.

A couple of questions for you:

1. Is the $3,000 budget for projector and screen? or does that budget include AV Receiver, speakers, blu ray, etc.?
2. What will the theater be used for (i.e. movies, sports, hd tv, gaming, etc.)?

The $3000 is just for the projector and screen. I'll be watching movies and sports primarily with an occasional HDTV program thrown in and possibly some gaming, but it wouldn't be my primary HDTV or gaming display.

Are you going to want to have any lights on during those sporting events, or will the room be totally blacked-out?

Are you OK with a fixed screen, or does it need to be retractable?

Do you have any preference regarding DLP vs LCD?

Consider the Epson 8100, it's not out yet, but it's expected to be a great one!
