Hi, I have a rather small area to keep my components in (on the hearth next to the tv). I am restricted with respect to depth and height of a component stand. I built my own a couple of years ago, but I recently purchased a new receiver and blu-ray player and now I need a stand with taller shelves (my new receiver needs more breathing room than my old one).

Anyway, I am looking at buying the Wood Technology CM series, but I don't want the base they use for storing LP's or CD's. Here is a web page showing the modular components:

I would like to buy the CM-8, but my problem is the item I'd like to use as the base is the CM-4:

The CM-4 is intended to be used as the top, not the base. I am writing this here to ask if any of you have one of these Wood Technology racks. I can't find information anywhere on the web to find out how the components interlock and if it's possible to use the "top" as a base. Any info you can provide is appreciated!
