I tried playing back home HD movies I burned on to a DVD+R in Bluray format but the BH200 won't read them. Is this a known issue or should I try a DVD-R or something? I can play them back fine in my Sony S300 and PS3.

Which firmware do you have installed? bradavon 10-13-09, 02:17 PM That's BD-R/BD-RE sivartk (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/member.php?u=7432610). I've not read of problems with DVD-R/RW or DVD+R/RW but I must admit, I've never tried it. CD-R is fine though. XBRSteve 10-13-09, 04:07 PM It is known not to work in firmware later than April 2008. Regular DVD video or HD? I can burn video as a regular DVD it works fine but if I burn it in BluRay format it doesn't. bradavon 10-14-09, 07:15 PM ...however the OP was burning it in a BD-R format. Sure DVD+R will work fine for DVD format. Oh yeah. Well spotted. I didn't even know that was possible. How do you do that? Surely that's completely unofficial, so pot luck if it works on any Player, no? 2shave 10-22-09, 12:09 AM They play just fine with the latest firmware. I have a 100+ HD TV shows that I've burnt to DVD and no issues at all. When burning, make sure that you set to UDF File format an under advanced set to profile 2.5. The best program to creature you blu-ray profile is TSMuxeR. The latest version is 1.10.6 I think. If it successfully creates the image, then it will play. If you get an errer, chances are it is the audio profile that you are having a issue with so try to adjust that. XBRSteve 10-27-09, 01:15 AM They play just fine with the latest firmware. You burned them to a DVD in m2ts format? baytoLA 10-27-09, 08:29 PM You burned them to a DVD in m2ts format? Tsmuxer has an option to output in BD disk format with the necessary folders that you can then burn to disk. 2shave 10-28-09, 03:30 AM You burned them to a DVD in m2ts format? No, you take the raw video (usually a ts or m2ts file) and input it into TsMuxer. Then set the output to Blu-ray disk Tsmuxer has an option to output in BD disk format with the necessary folders that you can then burn to disk. Correct. Just make sure that when you burn the disk, you set the disk structure to UDF and profile 2.5. If you don't, then the disk will likely not play on anything but your home computer and a sony ps3. Set correctly it will play on the bh-200. XBRSteve 11-27-09, 02:56 PM I firgured it out. I am using Nero and forgot to choose No Multisession. Once I selected that it plays back fine in my BH200. allargon 11-27-09, 03:26 PM Are you guys creating BD-9's, AVC-HD's or 3x DVD (HD DVD) with this option? I thought BD-R/RE's were only available in the 25/50 GB discs and that BD-9's had to be pressed with AACS encryption. Laserfan 11-27-09, 05:46 PM Are you guys creating BD-9's, AVC-HD's or 3x DVD (HD DVD) with this option? I thought BD-R/RE's were only available in the 25/50 GB discs and that BD-9's had to be pressed with AACS encryption. They're talking about burning the BD format to DVDs i.e. DVD+R DL ("BD-9") and DVD+R ("BD-5"). And yes you can also make AVCHDs and HDDVDs on DVD discs too. No AACS encryption needed, but of course you need a BD player for BD/AVCHD format discs and a HD DVD player for HD DVD format discs, or a BH200 w/April08 firmware. |
