Art, if you pair this HDTV and get rid of your projector, and add a Goldmun $135K Blu Ray player, you will have one super duper expensive setup.

HA!

I wonder if you could stack em?

Cool. although it is just competing with LED displays. they can already do that stuff. but the OLED may be able to drive costs down faster.

The issue with this is its modular nature. Ive yet to see a modular display that can stand close scrutiny. Hence its advertising application. That video clearly shows that the individual modules can still be seen.

Personally, I do see screens like this being very much to the fore in HTs of the future.

When we arrive at a point where the panels are big enough AND are imaging better than the best FP units, I'll be on it quicker than a Pit-Bull on a ham bone.

the video only showed up close on the lower res stuff.

I have seen some LED walls that show real promise. but we are not there yet.

Indeed, but you can still see the blocks of LEDs.

I'm sure that as soon as the video performance is at a level we would have in our HT then the engineers will dedicate some time and make the individual panel joints disappear.

Hopefully the OLED technology will get to the point where large screens need not be modular, so the above point may be moot anyway.

How about resolutions instead of size?

3840 × 2160. of course like all lcd there is the question of variation in viewing angle and contrast ratio, but it's still nice to see options...

Technical question. The narrator in the video says OLEDs being organic have a life expectancy of 2 years or 20000 hours. Is this the case with all OLED? I own the little Sony
and now Im thinking I better not leave it on all the darn time.
Does this apply to anything organic..ie LCD?

And here thought it was going to be for displaying Picasso

Not as standard, but they supply the user with a 6" nail, and sledge hammer, to apply your own perforation pattern.

Thanks ! That was the only thing holding me back.

This is being discussed in the flat panel forum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1185877). It seems to only have 256 pixels per panel. Each panel being about 4 inches X 4 inches. Total resolution is 576x320. Not very impressive.

so 6 mm resolution? LOADS of LED are much better than that.

I think Jerry Jones has the most balling TV on the planet at the new Dallas Cowbay stadium. Now that is a bitch kitty...
