Searched around but couldn't find a thread that stated what the pros and cons were of doing recessed in-wall/in-ceiling speakers vs speakers mounted on the wall.
I'm building a new home so now is my chance to prewire the media room in the basement the way I intend to set it up with speakers. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I currently own jbl wall mounted rears and towers for for the fronts. Not sure I want to spend more money on new speakers especially if they are not going to sound as good as my current speaker setup.
