Once I hit 2748 hrs i got a please change lamp/filter msg but noticed its still plenty bright , no flickering. So i cleaned the filter which was not that dirty but the message is still there. Does the projector know of an impending doom that I dont know about? My old Sanyo got very dim but also gave me a change bulb msg around 3000 hrs, It was fine till around 3500 hrs. Suggestions? Thoughts?

Though I don't have your projector the way I handle bulb messages is this: If the bulb is still plenty bright and working well without flickering I simply reset the lamp replacement indicator. If you operate your projector properly (i.e. you don't turn it off and on constantly) you'll probably be okay as on/off is what puts the most stress on any bulb.

Typically I only turn my projector on once a day and leave it on if I intend to use it at again within a few hours. Otherwise it stays off for the night. I've already put an extra 1000 hours passed the 3000 hr. suggested maximum on my lamp using this method and it's still going strong.

It's up to your discretion, but if the bulb doesn't show issues I would squeeze some more life out of it. Or, since you seem to have a very good bulb, you could order a replacement lamp and keep your current one as a backup if you intend to keep your projector for a long time.

yeah its probably on avg 6 hrs a day, i just leave it on
