I have a room that used to be our den. we knocked down the wall between it and our kitchen, we have all walls off to stud for remodel of whole space. anyway, new hometheater room will be 12 ft wide by 18 ft long. looking to do a 5.1 set up. need help with the following:

1) what in wall, in ceilings would you recommend for rear channle, front channel, center and sub?

2) what site would you recommend i buy a good, cheap 50 foot hdmi cable from?

3) what guage speaker wire should i run to speakers mentioned in item 1? again, cost is an element.

With wall out to kitchen how are you going to control light for your projector?

IMO - I like free standing speakers when possible - our space is 13 X 20 with all speakers free standing with sub hidden behind furniture.

Projector mount and screen will probably be most difficult piece with the situation you describe.
