Hey everyone, first time post from a new guy...
I've been studying a lot lately as I'm ready to begin putitng together my home theatre...I ran across a moving sale in which I could pick up the following for about $1,500. I'm trying to get some input as to whether or not it's a good move.
TV: Sony KDL-40WL140
Surround: Yamaha HTiB; YHT-591bl
Blu Ray: LG BD390
Thanks for your input!
Seems pretty close to what you could get it all for new based on some quick google searching.
I'd probably pass.
Just as info and per our experience you can't get a "theater" experience with a 40in TV. We first thought we could have "theater" when we bought a 56in HD TV - Televisions just can't deliver "theater". One day they will but not for at least a few years. We found that 100 inch diagonal is the minimum to give the WOW of Theater (we love our "little" television even if it can't do theater).
For the money you posted you can probably find a nice projector if "theater" is what you want. Size really does matter when defining watching television versus HT.

I'd pass, do some looking around and you can find things to fit that same budget.
