Hi Everyone,
I have a very basic question. I am not an electrician so I want to make sure I don't blow up my new projector. My sincere apology if this subject has already been discussed. I searched the forum but did not find it. Here it goes.
I have a Optoma HD20 project. The projector power cord is only few feet long. My power outlet is little far and extension cord is not an option. I have a long computer power cord available which looks the same only thicker.

When I look closely at both cords I do see some differences. Here are the specs from both cords. My question is can I replace the project power cord with this computer power cord?

Project is 125V - 10A (I am assuming A is for AMP)
Computer Cord 125V - 13A

Your input will be greatly appreciated.

Plug it in.
So I take it 10A to 13A does not make a difference and would not negatively impact the projector?

A cord capable of carrying 13 amps is just a heavier gauge wire than a cable rated for 10 amps. Don't worry your projector won't shine brighter until it self destructs.

An extension cord can't push more amps through a device than the device demands from the cord.
