I noticed on my Panasonic AE2000 projector, the picture dims and then goes back to normal several times when I'm using it. I had turned off the dynamic iris, but it still does this. Does this mean that the bulb is going bad?

had the same problem like you after 250 hours of usage in eco mode. I moved it to normal mode for 40 hours and the dimming in/out is now gone. Now turn it back to eco mode.

I have been running in normal mode, but I will try eco mode for 40 hours. Also I am going to unplug the unit for a little bit as well. Is there a master reset?
