Hi guys,
I searched and found similar threads regarding other Harmony remotes but not the 900.
I have a Harmony 900 controlling my home theater in the living room. I want to purchase another 900 to control my TV and DirecTv box in the kitchen. While the TV's are of a different manufacturer, the DirecTv boxes are exactly the same.
Am I able to use 2 Harmony 900's in the same house? FYI; the kitchen is right next to the living room.
Thanks!!!
Chris

Just make sure the IR blaster or the IR from kitchen remote is not shooting into the living room and you should be fine.
At the risk of me being laughed off this forum, may I ask why a $400 remote is necessary to control one TV and and one DirecTV box? The DirecTV remote can handle that just fine, and do it in RF mode, guaranteeing no interference with your other box, ever. When the price of the remote approaches or exceeds the price of the device it's controlling, something is seriously out of whack. If you need a few macros the D* remote can't handle, the $20 RCA RCRP05B (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9405976&type=product&id=1218099916387) from best buy can handle those just fine and has styling similar to the 900, if that's your main concern. And unlike the 900, it can actually do macros for things like todo list, closed captioning, commercial skip, prioritizer, etc., and you don't have to recharge it.

mdavej,
As usual, great advice. No laughing here - I share your question.
Thanks guys.
Well; I planned on hiding my DirecTv receiver in the pantry and really wanted to use an IR/RF system. I'm new to all this fancy tech for audio/video and knew only of Logitech, Universal, and a few others. And I'm really happy with my 900 in the living room so....
Long story short; I found out on Monday that DirecTv has a RF remote. Problem solved (hopefully as I'll install everything this Friday) and for only $25!!!!
Thanks again for the help!
Ok
I'll resurrect the question.
I currently have 4 Harmont 890 Pro units and 1 extender. I have the remotes in 4 rooms, since I am always forgetting to bring it upstairs, downstairs, whatever.
All my equipment is in the basement (except the 2 bluray players, of course).
The 900 does RF, but looks like you can only use 1 900 with the extender. I guess I am looking for a 900 Pro? Supporting mulitple remotes with a master and extenders for all.
Does anyone know if multiple 900s would work? I dont want 4 extenders as I currently use port a/b/c/d ir for different shelves for like equipment.
