Back in '07 I decided it was time to take a risk on front projection. I had done all the measuring and considering and would have been doing things over again if I had waited. I used this site as my main resource for information in all of my considerations and calculations. I do have to admit that I was in fear of getting an unsatisfying result.
Back then, the Sony VW60 was the hot ticket, and so I sent AVS my check and got one. I still remember the first time I turned it on. It was a high definition nature show about New Zealand I was getting off of satellite. All I could say was "WOW!" . Even with ambient light and without the darker walls that optimize video, it was fantastic.
I am one of those guys with an 8 1/2 foot dish on my roof that scans east to west, horizon to horizon. I hunt for the unencrypted feeds for various events and shows.
Just yesterday, I found some NFL game feeds in High Definition. They were 1080p ! Just fabulous! I can't imagine a better picture, although I apparently can get it brighter still with a white or silver screen. But I don't know why I need to.
So thank you AVS. Thank you for the projector, for great information and for generous members.
Thank you again.
