So my wife's wine fridge took a dump on us (it was a cheapo from Best Buy) anyhow I would like to buy a better wine fridge and make a little area that would incorporate the fridge, an area for bottles and glasses and a maybe some granite for a counter top. I found some wine fridges that has every thing that I want, but the price is a little over the top.
Any suggestions, pictures or tips as to which way to go would be great!
Budget?
Do you want to DIY or buy everything prebuilt as a unit?
My thought would be to get an under the counter wine fridge or two, a couple semi-custom base cabinets from Lowes or HD, and then possibly hit up a a granite/marble fabricator for a remnant. You could even add a few upper cabinets/shelves/glass racks mounted above. It's still not going to be cheap... 100-250 per cabinet, 500-1500 for a good built-in wine cooler, 200-500 for granite...
A few other prebuilt options I kind of like:

I actually considered doing a built in wine room where my basement half bath is... I then downgraded that to a Eurocave built in unit... but I finally settled on just keeping my 42 bottle unit as a table for my popcorn machine. :)

Go to Vinotemp's website and check out their "scratch & dent" section. Picked up a 55blt chiller for $250 +$100 for shipping. Was not a scratch or dent to be found! In fact it was in a sealed factory box.

i like those very much, would save me a ton of time and effort, but a little out of my price range.
