I have the recorder hooked to a dish 722 receiver via the component out to component in and the only thing I get is a distorted picture. I checked all connections and settings several times but to no avail. Maybe I missing something. Anyone with any suggestions on what could be wrong? Thanks

Is your Dish ViP722 set to output HD? If so, it will output HD through HDMI and component simultaneously. If you want the ViP722 to output SD via component, then you need to change its output from HD to 480i in settings.

If you want to output HD to your HDTV and SD to your DVD recorder, then you need to use another analog connection such as s-video or composite.
