Hey I am a long time watcher but this is my first post on AVS. The reason I am making my first post is to let all my fellow home theater enthusiast know about a new product that launches today, GlideTV. Now before any of you accuse me of just being a viral marketer, let me tell you I am definitely not. As a matter of fact I have been along time enthusiast and early adopter. This is actually how I got involved with checking out GlideTV. I read an article on EngadgetHD and it was talking about CES and some of the cool products one of them being GlideTV. When I went to the site, there was a place to sign up to get additional information which I did. A couple of months went by and I didn't think another thing about it. But then I was contacted and asked if I wanted to be a Beta tester. I filled out some general information and I was then selected to be one of the Beta testers. For the last several months I have been involved in watching this product really blossom.

Although this product can control a PS3 and is usable with Macs, I am a PC guy and I have a sweet HTPC set up on my system. The only thing I haven't liked is using a big keyboard and mouse to control everything. And I have tried a couple of other things such as using my Harmony 880, but that just gives me basic operation. Now with the GlideTV I have total control. I actually really like the remote a lot. The nice thing is you can use the GlideTV interface which makes it really easy to get to regularly used programs (you can even add the use of programs like slingbox) or web sites or you can use it to control anything else on your computer.

This remote and interface has made it so even my kids have no issues using my HTPC. They used to ask me to do everything for them but now they can do what they want. Anyway.... the product is launching today and I just thought someone should let the rest of you know.

The VP of Sales & marketing and I believe others at GlideTV were previously with VUDU which of course featured a fantastic remote and UI allowing you to navigate and search using the On Screen Display.

I can't wait to get my hands on one.
