Contemplating the upgrade, and can't commit. There is the RS15 and the RS25, with the 25 being more expensive than I paid for the RS1 when it came out (oddly...these things are supposed to go down, not up).

The main features I want is better contrast and the focus being controlled via the remote.

Looking to see if anyone made the upgrade and feels it was worth it. Otherwise, I will stick around for another generation and see if things get a little cheaper. The fact that I was able to upgrade my SXRD Sony RPV that cost $2500 3 years ago to a way better $999 plasma leads me to wonder why the projector prices didn't come down more this time around....unless I just got *that* good a deal on the RS1....

Does your RS1 have light corners? (also - I much prefer the RS1 manual focus vs: newer motorized models - including my RS20)

I upgraded from HD1 to RS10 and feel the upgrade was worth it. Though the upgrade wasn't say huge, I still feel it was worth it. Better black level for sure, motorized lens cover, zoom, focus, etc. If you're going to the 15 expect the upgrade to be incremental. I would expect the upgrade to the 25 to blow you away though. If you can hold out one more generation things may prove interesting, but if not I'm sure you'll be very happy with either the 15/25.

I just did it and am glad. See my post under official RS15 owner's thread.
