Hi,
I've not been using Dish for over 5 years and I still have my model 6000 HD tuner with off-air module and the advanced HD module ala 2005.

Does the model 6000 still work with Dish Networks system today? I also have two new extra Dish500 dishes, are these still capable as well?
Thanks to anyone that can help, I'm trying to decide if I should trash these or list on Criagslist if they have any value whatsoever.

The 6000 is only MPEG2, most all of Dish HDTV these days is MPEG4.

But, if the 6000 is connected to a dish aimed at a Dish Network satellite, it will still function as a Digital TV receiver (no subscription needed).

Not sure about the dishes, I think they still have value but for HD another dish or two may be needed.

Depending on what satellites you are trying to receive, the 500 dishes can still be used. However, different LNBs may be needed. Again, it depends on the particular satellites.

When I got a Dish Network 622 HD DVR they gave me a $25 credit for returning my 6000. Since the 6000 is only MPEG2 and needs to be connected to a satellite dish to even use it for OTA I considered the $25 refund to its best use.
