I have a new R-50 and have tried to learn commands on the Channel Up and Down buttons to no avail. These buttons were already programmed for other use when I set up my individual components however I want to use these instead to control the lighting in my theater. I had no problem doing this with my previous MX-500, however I 'learned' all keys on that remote rather than using the pre-program codes. I am able to learn to these buttons in the Main Menu and the Lights component menu, so I know the problem is not the frequency. Does anyone know if these keys are treated different for some reason if there is a preprogrammed component?

Try checking for a punch through enabled on these keys.
