I know this isn't directly related to Dedicated theatre build but I figured most of you here have had to deal with this type of deal.
I am trying to take advantage of the energy rebate that is currently going on and we were suggested R19 foam insulation around our concrete foundation for our crawlspace and I was curious if most of you here just contracted this out, or had a place online local etc where you were able to receive a decent deal.
We just found out that we have basically no insulation around the crawlspace and I am going to have to mastek all my vents because they are so poorly done.
Thanks!

My question is... Should I insulate the ceiling of the crawl-space/floor of my downstairs?
Should I use the blue backer foam board stuff for the concrete or just use the batting stuff and lay it down on the floor of the plastic floor?
My crawl-space has 3 vents to the outside.

It would help to know where you live so that we have an idea of the heating demand. I was surprised to see non insulated ducts.
Please link your photos directly into your thread. Just use around the url. You'll get more readers and perhaps input.

Before you insulate the ductwork, remove all the duct tape and go back over ALL the fittings with SILVER tape. Duct Tape is great for many uses, but it's NOT meant to be used for duct work!

good catch, duct tape is not for ducts.

Thanks. Yeah, actually I walked around outside and it is vented to the outside. There are 3 vents that I can find.
I live in Alaska, it is very dry here. Dry heat, dry winter. I dont have a problem with moisture.
I was suggested to use mastic to replace the duct tape. I just was not sure what to use to cover the cement portion of the outer walls.
Thanks again!

Would something like this work for the lower cement area?
