Okay so I've seen the other threads kinda like this but they were wicked old and things have changed. So I've got an Athena AS-C1 center (http://www.athenaspeakers.com/products/as-c1-faqs/) that fit nicely on my Tantus DLP cause they put a shelf platform on the TV for center channels speakers but since the DMD board is dying I need an LCD or Plama which won't be able to hold the Athena. The speaker is 17.75"x7"x9.5" and weights approx 18lbs.

So what shelves or set ups are out there to keep the center above the display panel? I don't really want to put it below for sound quality and voice sync so anything made to deal with this?? Something from IKEA perhaps?? Wall mounted too. The display won't be wall mounted either.

I just logged in to ask pretty much the same question. I'm putting the TV (TC-P58S1) on top of a stand, but don't know what to do with my Def Tech C/L/R 2500 center channel (23-1/2" W x 6-3/4" H x 14-1/16" D 37 lbs).

I was thinking maybe there's a way to invert a standard wall mount with center channel shelf by mounting to the TV upsidedown and not attaching to the wall...but haven't been able to find a mount with a shelf. Any ideas on that or any better ideas? (I prefer the latter, of course). I'd prefer not to wall mount the center channel.

For the OP, since you're ok with wall mounting, how about an Omnimount MWF8 or another of the Omnimount wall furniture? http://omnimount.com/Product/Wall_Furniture/Moda_Collection/MWF8/ I think I'd go that way if I were interested in holes in the wall...

I think this might do what I need and looks pretty nice too. EKBY JÄRPEN/ EKBY ROBERT from IKEA for only $24.99. The larger shelf is 46x11 and holds up to 66lbs with proper mounting.

Or I'll just get the same bracket pairs alone for $7.50 and get some pine or maple shelf board from Lowe's of any length I want and paint it to match the wall color!!
