Hi all,

Recently I included couple of HT equipments in my family room, laid down Cat6 cabling all over the house and also ordered a NAS (Synology DS209) to store and stream digital contents.

Now the only piece limiting my entertainment experience is a Digital Media Player. I am not at all knowledgeable in modern day video contents and formats. This is driving me crazy.

I've a Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 1080p camcorder which records in .mp4 format. At present, I am able to play the video through my camcorder only. i.e. I am not able to see the video clips which are stored on my hard disk. Supplied NERO s/w is also not able to playback these videos smoothly.

All that I know is video is MPEG4 (h.264)... don't know anything about profiles, bit-rates etc.

I am looking for a DMP which will be able to playback this video content effectively from synology NAS (ofcourse apart from usual .jpgs and other typical files). If that DMP provides YouTube/Flickr/Picasa kind of options, that's plus..but it's not necessary requirement.

What device would you Gurus recommend for my requirement? Cheaper the better but willing to put in extra money if it guarantees better experience.
Which of these device would you recommend - Popcorn hour c-200, playonHD, WDTV Live.. or any other..

Sorry if this post was un-necessarily long.

Thanks and appreciate your inputs.

Is it worth to go with WDTV Live or go with Popcorn Hour C-200 ?

The only way to be sure is to post a short clip and have people who own the devices try it. I suggest keeping the clip under 100mb and using drop.io (http://drop.io/).
