View Full Version : PS3 250GB... November 3 in the U.S. for $350
joeblow 10-15-09, 04:57 PM For only $50 more you can more than double the HD space with this new option (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/10/15/sony-confirms-standalone-250gb-ps3-for-us-at-349/)in America; a 250 GB PS3 Slim for $350 (no game will be packed in).
They should have included Uncharted 1.
I NZ they're throwing in Uncharted 2, and COD4 with the 250GB PS3 (well at least one retailer is).
lwright84 10-15-09, 07:18 PM Theyre really missing out on a HUGE system seller bundle..
Uncharted SLIM bundle w/ 250GB SLIM and Uncharted 1 & 2!
I cant believe no one in their marketing team has thought of this. Get one the best selling exclusives on their platform (which is now a 'Greatest Hits' anyway) and get the highly-anticipated sequel! This would obviously take the place of the now-defunct Uncharted 160GB FAT bundle that sold pretty well for the last year or so.
Man, they'd sell like hotcakes!
Krieger119 10-15-09, 07:24 PM 500gb here FTW

Then either the price would have to go up or they would lose one on the system. Selling new games like UC2 is how they make up lost revenue. They should give away Sony published exclusives to get people into the franchises, then sell them sequels. The original R&C and UC would be perfect.

Ok make it $399 again like the first UC bundle. :D
you can buy a 320gb hd right now for about 50bux. No real deal.
The only reason they are doing this is to show up the $399 250GB 360 Elite. Which it does it pretty well. Sony's pulling the switcharoo; casual/common folk would go to the game store and see a 360 and PS3 side by side and think "Why would I get this more expensive one when it has the same (or less) gigs? This cheaper one seems like the better deal." It was a major strong suit for the 360, now the tables are turned. It's a pretty smart move on Sony's part, even without bundling a game in.
gpthree 10-16-09, 12:11 AM Dont you get a game and an extra controller with the $399 Elite though?
Vortex3D 10-16-09, 01:26 AM Funny PS3 is back to 4 different SKU again.

For extra $50 and double the hard drive space, it's worth to many PS3 buyers who don't want to order another larger hard drive and do the simple hard drive swap, download the firmware to an USB flash storage and reinstall the firmware. Not everyone is like us who can do it.
Sony did make the hard drive swap with more steps requiring to reinstall the firmware if the hard drive is swapped. The 20GB, 60GB, 80GB and first model of 40GB PS3 store the entire firmware inside the PS3 flash memory. Those models are easier to swap the hard drive.

I'm not sure about the controller, I thought it came with Modern Warfare 2.
eddy_winds 10-16-09, 01:45 AM Microsoft and Infinity Ward just announced the availability of a Modern Warfare 2-themed Xbox 360 console at a press event in Los Angeles. Included in this "limited edition" $399 package is: a 250GB Xbox 360 console, with the requisite Modern Warfare 2 markings (the so-called "Super Elite"); two wireless controllers, presumably also apparently not Modern Warfare 2-themed (though, notably, not Mad Catz's officially licensed wired controllers); and, lastly, a "standard edition" copy of Modern Warfare 2. No matter how you do the math, that's a good deal. As most of us know, the only thing that moves more consoles than "a good deal" is "a good deal" that includes the words "modern," "warfare," and "two" somewhere in the title.
Major Nelson says it's the "standard edition" of the game and Amazon, in addition to not listing a WiFi adapter (we won't quit complaining, Microsoft!), specifies that the bundle only includes a "Composite A/V cable." The only other detail we've gathered is that you'll be able to preorder like you've got a pair beginning "today" – Amazon has the listing right here. If you're hungry for any more details you can watch our shakicam videos of the big reveal and what's in the box.

well the 80 and 120 has been discontinued, just left over inventory so technically they only have two skus now.
eddy_winds 10-16-09, 08:56 AM The 120GB has been out less than 120 days..
You mean 160GB

No, it is back to two.

Yeah, but you don't get bluray capability or the ability to play Uncharted 2!!!
amazon does not disclose detail of package. I would like atleast 2 controllers lol1
Any details?
joeblow 10-16-09, 02:13 PM 99% sure it's one controller. It's a bare-bones package to make it as cheap as possible.
gpthree 10-18-09, 04:50 PM Yeah, but you don't get bluray capability or the ability to play Uncharted 2!!!
You are correct. Get both bundles and you cant go wrong. :)

That's true. After all, some people have to pay Best Buy $130 to get their system set up. :)
