I have seen some really cool lenticular 3D posters at the theater lately such as Toy Story, Avatar, Alice in wonderland, Final Destination and a couple years back the Spiderman poster. I really like these, anyone know of a place to buy them. Apparently eBay removes these auctions as the posters are promotional items.

That is not the Toy Story poster I seen. It was a theatrical poster with that green alien and a nice 3D look but thank any way.

Since investigating these things are much harder to find than anticipated. I looked over the weekend and these are rare...let me know if you find anything...I'd really like to get a 27 x 40 Back lit one.

Cheers,

Requis

Nice find. They're small, but look really cool. Might have to get a couple.

These are ok but not what I am looking for. Next time you are at a local theater they usually have one displayed for Avatar or Alice in Wonderland at this time and they look awsome, with real 3D like imagingand they vare full size at 27X40.

I live in china the past few years

I am always amazed at what we can get or have made here and for what price

No....not everything from China is crap

We always QC everything we do from here

In fact we started buying and having our own stuff made here
now more than half our work is sourcing and getting stuff made for others
but our own work load never fell off for our own stuff
just the other side keeps growing

Last year i had my business cards made from this stuff as well as other company print items

I am in the USA for a few months to take care of some personal business
then i am heading right back

bought a nice size condo and will begin converting it
it will be a home office as well as home
even though we have a real office in several cities
i am going to totally theme out 2 of the floors
(to show what we can do for home automation and theater)
and will sometimes show it to people there

i know it will be a big job but i am looking forward to it;):cool:
yeah i am a tek head and super geek, what of it?

The problem isn't that eBay takes them off, its that distributors go after sellers. They are expensive to make and providing a $300 poster to a theater only to watch them sell it on eBay is not something distributors would be happy about. I am pretty sure they are numbered and tracked for that purpose. After the theatrical run is over they trickle through the secondary markets. I love them myself but you are talking about ~$300-500 for a mediocre (Ghost Rider, Harry Potter, Punisher), to $700-1000 for Jurassic Park and Spidey 3. My personal favorite is The Frighteners but its ultra rare and too expensive.

The Ring 2, Final Destination, The Avengers, Lilo & Stitch, Species 2 can all be had for little to nothing but they are also less than stellar. If you want an ET let me know. I might have an extra laying around.

Also, be careful. They garner such a price there are knockoffs and LOTS of posters that aren't official theater release posters (not collectible, or good for resale)

I found the PULP FICTION one at our local FYI store for $15. Needless to say, I bought it.

BTW, Bed Bath and Beyond has a few cool framed standard size lenticular posters for around $20-$30 each (standard sizes 27 x 40). You can find them in their Arts section
