Hi all,

Newbie here. Just got a free AV and got Fios, now I just need to know how to get all these connected. Appreciate anyone who can help me out. Please see my components and what I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks in advance!

Components:
A/V - Marantz SR680 with RCA and S-Video hookups
FIOS Motorola QIP2500-3 Receiver
DirecTV- Non-HD Receiver
Panasonic DVD-Recorder DMR-ES20
35" older tube TV with 1 input RCA jack and 1 S-Video

Trying to accomplish:
Getting FIOS and DTV connected to Panasonic DVD recorder so I can record both input when needed. Then broadcast the sound thru my AV for 5.1 effect.

Please let me know how I do this connection

If you are going to watch HD you will need to bypass the DVDR. You could run composite or S-video from your STB to the DVDR and then to a like input on the TV so you could record from fios. Then have another output, HDMI from the DVDR to your AV. The AV is already connected to the TV. It's easier to do it than explain it, maybe someone else can do a better job than I am.

Getting FIOS and DTV connected to Panasonic DVD recorder so I can record both input when needed. Then broadcast the sound thru my AV for 5.1 effect.I assume you mean simulated 5.1 effect from one of the AVR's sound fields. That Panasonic recorder will only output 5.1 sound through it's digital output when you are playing a commercial DVD with a 5.1 soundtrack. No DVDR can record 5.1 sound.
