I have a SA 8300HD dvr with Houston Comcast. I have a strange issue. I can normally record 2 channels and watch a previously recorded show just fine. however, now i notice if i record a very certain channel, Noggins Channel 342 to be exact, as one of the channels recording, when I try to play back a recorded program, the screen goes black and the system reboots. To summarize:

record 2 channels (other than Noggins) and watch different previously recorded show....fine

record 2 channels with one of them being Noggins, and watching one of these channles live...fine

record 2 channels, one of them being Noggins, and try to watch previously recorded show... black screen and reboot.

Can anybody explain this?

I changed out box, and the same thing happened to the second box.

I do have external drive connected, but it happens whether I have drive connected or not.

Look at the signal levels in the diagnostic pages. Click on the SARA link in my signature for more information.

If you are in Houston, maybe you can try this out also and see if it happens to you, or is it just my house.

The same thing happened when I tried it. When I looked at the diagnostic pages, I didn't see any problems with the signal levels on channel 342. You may post this in the Houston Comcast thread to see if anybody knows what is happening. Click on Houston in my signature to go to that thread.
