Hey All!
Once again, I'm hoping this wonderful forum can help me with a problem I'm having (hopefully I'm posting this in the right place).
I'm having an issue with the dialogue on some of my PS3 games. For lack of a better definition, the dialogue sounds compressed (ie not full-sounding). It almost sounds as if it is a bit distorted or something, but I KNOW I'm no where near the volume limits of my receiver or speakers. Two games I know for sure have this problem are Army of 2 & Assassin's Creed
I also have the same problem on some TV shows through my Comcast Motorola HD DVR box. In addition, when watching TV shows I get random clicking or popping noise through the speakers. Only one click, and then it doesn't do it for a while. The click/pop sound isn't too loud, but it is there and I can't figure out what is going on.
My setup is as follows: Onkyo tx-sr506 reciver, 5.1 setup with Polk Monitor50's up front, CS1 center, Monitor40's surrounds.
I have tried some of the different sound settings in the PS3 as well as the Cable box but I don't really know what I'm doing here so was hoping someone might be able to guide me a little.
Oh, and I should mention that blu-ray movies through the PS3 always sound great. The PS3 issue only seems to happen in some games. Same for the cable issue, sometimes it sounds fine and other times it has the 'thin' sound to it.
I also forgot to add, I'm using optical for both devices.
Thanks guys!
