Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to output video from a PS3 via the HDMI output, while simultaneously outputting audio via the RCA "audio-out" jacks?

I'm hoping to hook the HDMI into my television and then jack the RCA outputs into my speakers via a RCA-to-3.5mm converter cable.

Many thanks,

Yes. You run the video setup, pick HDMI, then audio setup and pick RCAs.

You also need minimum firmware 3.00. Firmware before 3.00 only allows one audio output.

3.0 not needed since he's not using HDMI for audio.

I thought about this some more. There is another way to do it. Run the video AND the audio to the TV through HDMI. Then, run an audio OUT from the TV to your stereo system. This will allow you to use the TV volume for the PS3 as well. Good for late night gaming or movies when you don't need the loud sound.

The third option would accomplish the exact same thing. Run the video AND the audio to the TV through HDMI. Select the dual audio output in the XMB, and run RCAs from the PS3 to the stereo.

I think I have covered all the possibilities...
