Has anyone had any dealings with the out of warranty Tech Serv Corp in Milpitas Ca. They freakin suck:mad: !!!!!! No one speaks english and my projector had to travel 12,000 miles with two trips back to Ca from NY before it was repaired:mad:, Guess what,,,,,,,It's doing the same thing again.

:mad:DONT BUY A REFERBISHED OPTOMA:mad: their service team sucks. You can't speak to a tech person because:mad:...who knows why:mad::mad::mad: No one is in charge of customer service, they can't be spoken to either....

So, I'm in the Dark again:mad:. When buying my next projector i will be sure to check with who does repairs, who cares what it looks like if you can't get it repairs.

:mad:I'm so pissed off:mad:..............:mad:KG:mad:

They replaced the light engine board....twice. Now it wont light until the third or fourth try.
It's an Optoma HD79.....When working it throws a great picture. It's when its dark the funs gone:mad:

When my unit wouldn't light until multiple tries a new bulb always fixed the problem. I am somewhat of an expert on this issue as I am on my 7th bulb for my H79.

Perhaps there is something else wrong with my unit but since I've never read anything good about Optoma Service. I mean this is the company that told me that the air filter is not to be cleaned by the consumer when I attempted to get them to replace the filter cover which broke when I removed it for inspection 6 months into ownership.

So far I've had two really happy days with my Optoma H79. The day I first hung it and shined it on a real screen. And recently the day I brought home my Planar 8150 to take it's place. Adding insult to injury is I paid less than 70% of what I spent on the Optoma for the Planar.

It does sound like the bulb is going. Did it do this as soon as you got it back? You could try reseating the bulb. If Optoma gets it they probably want full boat on a bulb. You can buy just the lamp part at auction for $150.
