I just bought an AVL300 and it is controlling all of my components fine, but I cannot get it to control my Directv box. It is model #H23. I have tried everything and nothing will work. I was hoping someone else on here has had this issue and knows what to do or something. Please help. TIA.

Is your H23 in RF mode? It has to be in IR mode to work with a universal remote. Is it set to something other than address 1? If so, you need to either change it back to address 1, or learn all the commands from your working DirecTV remote. If none of those are the issue, you may want to try using a different device from the database. Nearly all recent DirecTV receivers use the same codes, including D10, 11, 12, H20, 21, 22, 23, HR20, 22, 23. Try the H20 first.

I greatly appreciate the response, but I tried all of those box codes and still nothing. I have the box set in IR mode. I have tried manually learning every key on the remote and that doesn't work either. Any suggestions at this point?

We've never had a problem with the Monster remote and DTV box. Can you confirm that the original remote you have for the box is the RC64 and not the RC64R. If it's the "R" than it's the RF remote so it will not be able to teach the commands to the Monster and I would check your box again to make sure it's in IR mode.

Its in IR mode and the remote is not the RF remote. I tried teaching the AVL every button on the remote and nothing worked.
