Are there any 42" plasmas with CMS? If I have to go small I want it to be accurate. Thanks!

View Full Version : 42" Plasma With CMS??? CO1 10-17-09, 11:18 AM Are there any 42" plasmas with CMS? If I have to go small I want it to be accurate. Thanks! RandyWalters 10-17-09, 12:01 PM I don't think there are any 42" consumer models with CMS. Take a look at the Panasonic Industrial model: TH-42PF11UK, it has extended picture settings. It has last year's 11G plasma panel (which is still pretty good) and is 1080p, and it should still be available from dealers. Panasonic is starting to release the new NeoPDP 12G Industrial models (PF12UK series) but so far i haven't seen any reference to a 42" size - only 50" and larger so it's possible that they're no longer going to offer a 1080p 42 incher which would be a shame. The 12G NeoPDP panel is a pretty good jump up from the 11G panel. Here's the link to the downloadable PF11UK operating manual PDF: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/TH42PF11UK.PDF BWDinc 10-17-09, 03:24 PM Yes check out samsung 42 450, and the lg's do have somewhat of a cms. I prefer the sammy. it is only 720 but can be corrected pretty well. CO1 10-17-09, 03:29 PM Thanks Randy! Quick search indicates that the TH-42PF11UK goes for $2200 - $2600 in Canada. For that price I'd be looking at a much larger consumer model. For a 42" model I'd like to keep it under $1500 so the search goes on. I guess my choices are limited with respect to a CMS so with that in mind are there any 42" plasmas with accurate primaries and secondaries? CO1 10-18-09, 11:36 AM Looks like the Samsung B450 only has WB whereas the 650 and up have a full CMS but no 42-incher. I guess a 42" consumer model plasma with full CMS does not exist. pcdo 10-18-09, 12:10 PM Your best bet is to probably buy a decent 1080p 42" and buy an external video processor with CMS. I have the professional 10UK Panasonic model and while it does have increased color controls, it does not have a true CMS. If color accuracy is a premium, then Panasonic will leave you with slightly oversaturated greens. |
