this is a new problem for me. ive been using 1.02.00 for a while because the newer version messed up my audio sync, but now that i got a 5.1 system and am running the player through my reciever via optical audio cable i can get dts movies and also everything seems to be in sync better.

so so far ive noticed this with two things.. both which are new files. one is futurama dvd rips i had. only 2 episodes did this. what i mean is itl be playing then at a certain point (and the same point each time). now its doing it with master and commander thats ripped with dts at 720p. its at 15:44 (i think thats the second) anyways now im updating to the newest version and am gonna see if it fixes this problem.. im just worried that itl happen with more movies. OH also if i fast forward through that exact second the movie keeps on playing.... but still you can see how this is a giant pain. ill let you guys know if the new firmware fixes it.. but if it doesnt then i dont know what the problem could be.

damn. its still doing it. 15:46. hopefully its just this movie and a few others... but wtf this makes me mad. ugh...

also it seems i can only get past it if i fastfoward at a high speed.. but once i do it plays fine. i dont understand what could be happening to make it think thats the end of the video. the media player displays the correct movie length.. the "bar" isnt shown to be all the way at the end. ugh. well if it doenst happen with anything else i will just consider it a mild annoyance i guess..

i wish there was a way to know exactly what the problem is. i know the file plays fine on my computer... could it be something defective with the wdtv? cuz if it is i think its still under warrenty with bestbuy..

The WDTV probably doesn't like the file you have created. Do you have an LCD television? I have heard that generally they have more problems with audio sync. ( talking about directly connection a device to the television )

the audio is fine. im talking about the problem with the video stopping. at 15:44 it would stop and go back to the menu. so weird... i just cant imagine why it would do that.

Does the WDTV play other files fine? If so, it is a problem with that particular file. If you have sequential files in a folder did you make sure to press the "Play" button instead of hit the "Enter" in the center of the arrows>?

If you pressed enter, it will play that particular file from the folder, and stop.

huh what do you mean? yeah i usually hit the enter button. the folder has like 100 movies.. and remember i said it didnt play that file it played 15 minutes of a 2 hour file and then just stopped.

ok this is what i have discovered. while watching that file on the computer at that exact moment it gets pixilated for a split second.. so i guess thats whats causing the problem. how could this have happened?

I am guessing you probably have a corrupt file, and the WDTV thinks that it is the end of the movie. I have one .ISO file I created that does that, probably an issue with the disc I was recording off of.
