I'm a little bit tempted to buy a media player. The main reason is to play Xvid/AVI and H264/MKV. I hope you can help me a bit.

1) I don't really need any fancy menus, youtube, torrent, a bd drive or other "bonus" stuff (I do that stuff with my PC, BD and DVD Player).

2) It's important that it plays all (or lets say 95-99%) of the avi and mkv files I want to play. I don't want to mess with reencoding or other things, I just want to insert the file and press play. (e.g. I own a PS3 and a OPPO player, and several video files won't be played, because they doesn't like the codec standards or something like that)

3) It seems that only the Popcorn Hour products are capable of 23.976Hz. Why is that? Most of all HD material is in 23.976Hz and not 24Hz. The WD Player has a function in the menu, but it doesn't work. What do you suggest? If set to 24Hz, you get a little stutter every 40-42 seconds, am I right? The WD was the player I had in mind first. What about the new WD live?

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language. However I hope you can understand all things that I mean.
