How hot do your standard 4" - 5" halos get? I've been toying with adding RAAMmat BXT to the exterior of the IC Air Tite models for some additional dampening. The matting is rated for 250F. I thought that I've read somewhere that most cans have a safety shutoff at 180F. Sound right?

I built mdf boxes around my 4" lights and with 50w bulbs and the hottest temp that I measured was around 120 deg F.
