OK, I need some ideas on ceiling color. I'm running myself in circles about doing it in color, in black, or leaving it white but with big black sound panel cloud at the first reflection point.

Here is what I have to work with. The walls are actually a very solid blue and warm yellow...the flash makes them look brighter. The furniture is black leather, glass, and stainless/nickel, and the drapes are deep purple. The trim is currently a cheap (fake) honey wood trim, and I have some warm cherry woodworking I'm slowly replacing the fake wood stuff with. Though I'm not sure about making *all* the trim warm cherry just yet...too many primary colors as it is.

So, thoughts on ceiling color?

Black.

I recently put in black ceiling tiles above my screen and the experience is WAY better.

Black, at least in the "theater" area.

Black, at least in the "theater" area.

That's where I was leaning as well. I figured I could draw a line on the ceiling in blue painters tape and just leave the dining room and halls regular ceiling white.

So if I do the ceiling in black...what color do I make my first reflection "clouds"? :p LOL

OK, thanks for the tips all. I think I'm going to buy some flat black this week.

Not necessarily black but a very dark color. Check out this (http://www.benjaminmoore.com/bmpsweb/portals/bmps.portal?_nfpb=true&_windowLabel=sidebarportlet_1_6&sidebarportlet_1_6_actionOverride=%2Fbm%2Fcms%2FContentRende rer%2FselectSideBarArticle&sidebarportlet_1_6np=public_site%2Farticles%2Fexplore_color% 2Fec_virtual_fan_deck&sidebarportlet_1_6isNonSecure=true&_pageLabel=fa_colordirection) cool virtural color fan deck from Benjamin Moore and look at some of the darker colors for ideas that will complement your current color scheme.

Thanks! It's those kinds of fan decks (I have two at home from Benjamin Moore) are what got me to thinking a very, very dark offshoot of one of the colors I have would be the best solution. I just couldn't come up with anything. Black seems like a copout, but I want to get *something* done up there!:D
