I just changed over to cable tv, actually fiber optic cable. But basically cable tv. With the system came 4 Motorola Receivers. 1 DVR (unsure of model number) and 3 DCH-6200.

I want to put all receivers in basement utility room with all other equipment. I have ran 2 runs RG-6, and 2 Cat5 to each TV.

Can someone suggest a remote extender that will work through Cat5? I have TV's in each second floor bedroom and 1 TV on main floor. I tried a search but don't know how to narrow down my search to be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Ron

If you are planning to use your CAT5 for TCP/IP networking as well, you could use these devices. They transmit IR over TCP.

They are sold in pairs, but I believe they can be configured as many to one, so you could have one unit in each room, and a single unit at your equipment closet. You'd have to add an ethernet switch in your equipment closet to tie the lines together.
