So I've been reading all the threads and comparing the various streamers (thanks for the comparison grid!) but it doesn't appear that the majority of streamers out there don't have an external display. I'm interested in streaming music without my TV on and still see what track is playing. At the same time, I'd like to be able to stream video as well when I want to.

I was looking at getting a Squeezebox but they don't support video. QNAP's seems to have a display but you can't find it anywhere (nor can I tell if it actually shows the track name). The TVIX boxes seem to have a display but do they support track listings? They seem a little out of date too.

Any suggestions?

You'd have to have pretty good eyes to read that tiny screen from across the average sized room, no?
There are a few of those "digital picture frames" that come with a video input, so could be used as a small monitor for a media player, might be an option...
