View Full Version : Xtreamer 2.0 beta firmware leaked MidnightWatcher 10-21-09, 02:49 PM I know it's out there, but the question is where? Anybody know where I can download the beta fw 2.0 for the Xtreamer? Please PM me. Thanks in advance ... digi_dark_lord 10-24-09, 01:56 AM apparently the beta is being given out only to beta testers. sinker442 10-24-09, 03:43 AM You have PM... rick19011 10-24-09, 09:20 AM http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?0ntzgynzyjy MidnightWatcher 10-24-09, 02:32 PM Here are my initial impressions of fw 2.0.0b2: The HD GUI is a vast improvement. For the Samsung 32" LCD HDTV that I use for the bedroom however (which is 1366 x 768) it looks better to set the resolution to 720p instead of 1080i. It would be nice to have an option to set the output to the LCD's native 1366 x 768. It continues to play everything I have, though in some xvids there are a few sputters/dropped frames. Preview mode now shows the Folder.jpg in high resolution. I've placed movie posters from www.impawards.com (http://www.impawards.com) into each of the movie folders. Looks great. One problem however, it does not display progressive JPGs properly, this will need to be fixed. It's a welcomed improvement over that latest 1.0.3.1. Wireless connection seems improved, though more should be done in this area. (I have the Xtreamer mapped to drive X: on my PC downstairs and would love to be able to transfer a >500MB file wirelessly to the attached USB HDD. Right now this is a no-go, and attempting to do so results in the Xtreamer hanging. This happened in 1.0.3.1 as well). Miscellaneous items I would like to see included in the final release -- a basic calibration tool that would allow me to adjust the brightness/contrast/color/sharpness on my HDTV. I would also like to have the ability to customize the GUI and upload new skins/themes. Pepelaz 10-30-09, 02:16 PM beta 4 is out New features: 1. Internet Radio. I recommend everyone to wait one more week for the final release. Notice that I did not post the links, nor ask that they be posted. Only that I be PM'd. sempur 10-31-09, 02:08 PM Shame on you guys! Sufficed to say if your Xtreamers brick. They wont be covered under warranty! Yes, a real shame, but a good excuse for buying the WDTV instead StardustOne 10-31-09, 02:48 PM I would not even call this buggy firmware a beta. FLAC files with ID3V2 tags do not play nor do my MKV 720p files. MidnightWatcher 10-31-09, 04:11 PM I would not even call this buggy firmware a beta. FLAC files with ID3V2 tags do not play nor do my MKV 720p files. My MKV 720p all play. Don't have any flac. Yes, a real shame, but a good excuse for buying the WDTV insteadI had the WDTV Live two weeks ago, it would not play some of the video files I had. rjyap 10-31-09, 10:16 PM Look for 2.0.b4 in google. I found it in a french website. Just tested 2.0.b4 and FLAC with tagged is working fine. As I'm using wired connection, playing 1080p mkv and m2ts is flawless. Previously on 1.0.3 any 1080p movie will stutter. MidnightWatcher 11-01-09, 08:28 AM Anyone who installs new firmware for the Xtreamer (whether it be official or beta) are recommended to reset to defaults and reboot after the upgrade. Failing to do so could be one reason why some would have issues not playing certain files. Sarcoptic 11-01-09, 09:16 AM Bitstreaming of DTS-HD and TrueHD? facke02 11-01-09, 12:40 PM I just tried 2.0.b4. Doesn't address any of my 1.0.3 issues: 1) HDMI issues with my Anthem D2v and 2) Jerky 1080p play back over wired ethernet. Yes, I did the "reset". Hopefully the final GA version will adress these issues, otherwise it's off to the office system... Galun 11-01-09, 08:50 PM No bitstreaming of DTS-MA or DDTHD yet. DTS-MA down converted to DTS, DDTHD is stereo. However, there were some improvements in audio processing. In the previous version, LPCM had no sound. There is sound for LPCM in this version. BD iso works but no menu. lucas1409 11-02-09, 03:56 PM hi, ok, I test beta 2.0.0.4 playing 1080p mkv and m2ts is good, itīs very fast but i think i loose the syncronize wiht tv. the TV sometimes display hdmi imput 1080. Itīs more better than 2.0.02 becouse this realesse have very problems wiht audio and movie will stutter Previously on 1.0.3 any 1080p movie will flawless, sometimes only whit MKV, the extremaer freeze and loose hard drive until until five secons b0ba 11-04-09, 07:54 AM found 2b4 here "gator884 hostgator com / ~xtreamer / Xtreamer_2.0.0b4.zip", just remove blanks in link. I see only one small problem, seems aspect ratio for GUI is only 16:9 and I can not switch it to 4:3. Yesterday, I saw on Xtreamer forum, one guy asked about source code of firmware, when will be available, but I see now, this post was deleted by moderators. Strange, why ? |
