Have a old external and thinking getting big. Looking around and see Seagates Showcase (http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/home_entertainment/showcase/) and the plug "Streams video better than a typical external drive."

Planning on using with a WDTV Live but wondering if truly better than that 1TB WD USB drive at BB?

Whoa, that is not right. An external drive is connected through USB, transfer speeds are very slow. Maybe, and probably not, would this work for a dvix dvd.
HD and no way.

External USB drives have plenty of bandwidth to stream HD. Try and see for yourself if you dont beleive me....
