You got to be kidding me... I just picked up Brutal Legend, Demon's Souls and U2 last week...

Well I guess I could pick up Ratchet & Clank, Fairytale Fights (if the release date is still the same) and Need for Speed Shift.

Unfortunately they would just be sitting on my shelf looking at me because I have a lot of backlog right now...

On another note, if you have 3 friends/relatives with PS3's; this is a great time to get some XMAS shopping done.

Pass...backlog is too big right now for me to drop $120 on 3 more games that'll be sitting around until at least early 2010. If it was Buy One, Get One I would probably bite but I cant justify 3 new games sitting around for that long right now.

Is Best Buy selling Demon's Souls yet? I had read they weren't carrying it. I might take advantage of this deal if they are. I need to pick up Demon's Souls, NBA 2K10 and whatever free game I decide on...Brutal Legend...LBP (wife loved the demo)...something else maybe...

Some BB's have it, but I would guess just about all should have it next week. There were some supply issues, they didn't expect this game to be the seller that it is.

They didn't have it when I went there to have them match the TRU offer a couple weeks ago.

Guess I'll swing by the Best Buys here in Charlotte next week til I find one that carries it.

Yes Best Buy is selling Demon's Souls, I bought it there last week. This is a frustrating sale, as I would have waited to pick up Borderlands, Demon's Souls, and Uncharted 2. Now I can only pick up Borderlands. Hopefully I can find some friends that only need a couple games.

I think I will bite, I just don't know what my 3rd game should be.

I wouldn't bite but I will get old by the time I'll get Demon's from Goozex. Maybe a placeholder for ACII if it flies with BB. First time in quite a while that I'm not sure what game I want :confused:

Probably trying to get rid of old stock before new games hit the market. I doubt they'd want to include a COD game in this type of deal. Usually the games released in November sell themselves, where games like Batman, GH5, NFS:S, and sports franchises could be passed over at full price, but worth it in a B2G1 deal.

The past few months have not been great for the gaming industry in terms of sales. Only explanation I can come up with.

Well, have to see the details, but 2:1 usually means 2 games at $60 and one free on the receipt.

If that's the case, you can pick up 2 placeholders and return them ala the TRU deal. BB you only have 30 days, so pick it up on Oct 31st and you're good till Nov 30th.

If you do, pick up older releases that are $60; it's just better Karma.

I think when BB matches the TRU deal, they ring them up at $40 a piece. They would probably do the same for their own sale, just to prevent placeholders from happening. Just a guess.

Already have a couple games listed on craigslist to sell. Depending how many buyers I get between now and Sunday I'll decide how many discounted games I get for myself. Sell enough and the one or two games I want will be free plus labor meeting folks and visiting the store.

I'm thinking this is a good time to pick up some older titles in the $20-$30 range I missed or weren't worth full price to me when they came out. If I can find them in stock locally, I'd like to get LOTR, Trivial Pursuit, Orange Box, or maybe Need for Speed Prostreet; all $20 titles, so $40 for three looks pretty sweet.

Does anyone know if this will work with preorders? I was planning to get both Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2.....and wanted to play Halo ODTS as well. If I can preorder MW2 and get this deal Id like to.

This comment is completely ignorant. Every bar code for FIFA 10 will be the same, each game does not have a unique bar code. I'm doing the same thing with Uncharted 2, but I'm returning the game to Best Buy with an earlier receipt. What are they going to do? Nothing, because they have a return policy and I have a receipt. Don't let the morality police convince you to do something stupid.

I do this all the time. Save receipts for all games you buy new. They will probably be on sale within the next 3 weeks. Rebuy and return with original receipt if it's at different stores. Pricematch for refund if same store.

As an FYI, they rang up my games as $60, $0, $60. I got Borderlands, Uncharted 2, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. I'll probably take Ninja Gaiden back and get Ratchet and Clank on Tuesday.

I'm not a big game player.

I've bought 2 games in the years I've owned my PS2. R&C and GT5 Prologue.

I prefer FPS on the PC so that leaves a lot of options out.

Was thinking of NFS:Shift. I played it and liked it but the LONG load times drove me nuts, might pick it up on the PC.

Demon's Souls and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 are both 3rd person. However, both are likely "gamer" games, so there is a level of difficulty, patience, and skill required to play them. I've already logged in 40 hours on Demon's Souls, and I just got it a couple weeks ago...and I typically get bored of games quickly.

Killzone 2? Most of the big game are 3rd person right now. Batman AA, inFamous, Red Faction, Demon's Souls, etc.

Good deal. We got Uncharted 2. We got GH5 and Batman AA for the 360. Those three used at Gamestop would also come to about $120 + tax but since we had a $25 BB GC, we went this route so we 'paid' about $105.

Boo, Bestbuy.com is backordered on Demon's Souls. Might pick it up through them, anyway.

Make sure you pay attention at the register...I got U2, Dead Space Extraction, and Wii Fit Plus for the wife, and they didn't ring up correctly. The manager had no idea what to do either and spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how I was trying to rip them off. Yes, I am trying to rip you off by getting this $20 game free when I could get a $50 game free.

The only Preorder they will let you get are the games that are coming out tomorrow.

I would imagine that would work as it would fall within the sale. Their words were "it has to be a release product during the sale", so that would fit with your experience. It didn't even cross my mind at the time. Lego RB won't be out until the 11th.

I picked up Uncharted 2, Borderlands, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. I plan on returning Sigma tomorrow for Ratchet and Clank, so I can post the results here. I picked up these games yesterday to make sure they didn't sell out. Can't imagine a problem with this since all games purchased would be within the sale date. If you plan on returning a game for a future game (ex. Modern Warfare 2) you may run into trouble since the game was not available during the sale period.

I seem to recall I tried to return a blu-ray movie I got as a gift, and that was part of a b2g1 sale a couple of years ago and I ran into some problems.

My purchase rang up as $60 Borderlands, $0 Uncharted 2, $60 Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. The middle game came up as $0. A friend purchased 3 games at a different Best Buy and the middle game came up as $0 as well. I don't think returning any game during the week of the sale would be a problem as long as you brought in all three games unopened in case they need to revise things for the order. Any time after the week of the sale you would likely run into trouble. Most experiences during these sales are YMMV.

Stopped by yesterday and snagged Ratchet, Demon's Souls & NBA2K10. Like others, my middle purchase rang up at $0 and it only showed on the register after she totalled it (i.e. after scanning all 3 it still showed full price until she finalized things). Eh, from the reviews I've read, it sounds like the controls are pretty lame.

There's no dedicated attack button, just using the right analog stick.

Most reviewers said that the game was fun in small doses, but it can get boring pretty quick.

That was the order I gave it to them. I figured it was just a Best Buy glitch. It rang all up full price then register calculated the discounts and bam! Error in my favor. :)

Picked up Demon's Souls, NBA 2K10 and LBP! Went to BB on my lunch break and they had a Demon's Souls copy packaged with the art book and soundtrack (think that only comes with the preorder edition), but they didn't have NBA 2K10, which is one of the other games I was gonna get. Had to go to a different BB that had all 3 of the games in stock. Gonna take the regular copy of DS back to the other store tomorrow and hope they still have that preorder version of the game sitting on the shelf and try and exchange for it!

*the BB that was sold out of NBA 2K10 had over 30 copies of NBA Live! I was waivering between the two but I just couldn't make the changeover to Live just yet...maybe next year!

I need a dual shock controller. Since the controllers are almost the same price as a game, do you guys think they would let me buy two games and substitute a controller for the third game?

No, probably not. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask though but typically sales like this are usually formatted into their POS system automatically with strict rules and limitations so it's not like they take it off manually.

At least with mine it wasn't manual.

Cashier scanned 3 games and hit the total button and it package out to give one game $0.00 (free) automatically.

I had a similar experience at BB; I got Ratchet (PS3 - $59.99), Forza 3 (360 - $59.99) and Dead Space Extraction (Wii - $49.99) - how's that for being console agnostic! I was expecting to pay for the two most expensive games but the person at the cash register rang up Ratchet and Dead Space and Forza ended up being the free game. Good deal.
