I know this topic has been re-visited a number of times, but with the new LCOS CMD pjs from JVC, I wouldn't mind some additional input.

As you can tell, I am probbaly going to be selecting one of: new Panny/Epson, RS-15, or perhaps a used RS-20.

I have a good LCD TV at home, and a pretty generic Plasma, and the plasma still kills theLCD for hockey. The puck looks like a puck, rather than a black comet, like my LCD.

So if I want to get good sports viewing (hockey!), and also good movies and gaming (a very multi-use projector), will the LCOS and in particular the LCOS - CMD have the biggest impact on the fast sports and gaming?

Will the difference in fast-motion sports viewing be subtle enough that I should consider other factors?

Will the new, 120hz panels in the new JVCs improve the fast-motion performance as much as the CMD?

Inquiring minds....

Hockey I don't know, but my Sony VW60 LCOS is great for those HD NFL feeds I get.

But then, nothing in football travels faster than a puck that's just been slapshot.

Obviously you have not seen Ray Lewis hit someone or Brett Favre throw a ball. According to the announcers they are FREAKS OF NATURE

If I cant see the dimples on the golf ball in flight the display is unwatchable.

He Macbuster: I have one of those ancient JVC Rs1s and I enjoy hockey tremendously with it. The puck is clearly a puck as is the US Open tennis ball which is often hit at over a 200 KPH. I suspect the new panels may provide some benefit to HD but even without them sports are really enjoyable on my 106 diagonal HP screen and I really do not notice many artifacts - maybe because I am not searching for them but rather enjoying the game.
