Connect the Bluray player to the TV using composite (or S-Video) video and red/white audio connections?

If it's an "older" TV, I'd assume it's not HD capable?
If it's HD ready and doesn't have DVI or HDMI, then component video (red/green/blue) is your last option.

If you don't have an HD ready TV... wait to buy a Bluray DVD player. ;)

Make/model numbers of your TV and devices helps for better answers/suggestions. :)

Even without "specifics"... probably not.

Make/model numbers really does help. ;)

Sure. http://www.hdfury.com/

my reciver has hdmi in and out plus what i need but it will not output any thing from the regular audio in outsForget about running signals 'in and out' of the receiver until you have enough equipment of the type to benefit from doing so (HDTV).

As already noted, use video or S-Video from the Blu-ray to the TV (whatever it will accept, S-Video being the preference), and optical or coax digital audio to the receiver. Be sure to have the TV audio completely off when the receiver is on and playing back Blu-ray.
