So trying to decide on an RF remote for my new living room system. All equipment is housed in a closet on a shared wall. Range would be 10' to maybe 40'.

The system is rather simple consisting of a plasma, av reciever, ps3, cable box, Ipod docking station, and tivo.

So I've found good prices on the Univeral Remote mx-900, Harmony 900 & 1100. These seem to be the units in my price range right now. The question is what would you go with if YOU were the one doing all the programing, needed something everyone could use. I've look at the manual for programing the mx-900 and it doesn't look easy and I write computer code.

So real life input for a simple living room system would be appreciated.

THanks

I have a Harmony 890 PRO. The 890 or 890 PRO would control those devices just fine using on Wireless RF Extender. In that the various Harmony remotes differ mainly only in button layout, color, display, and RF capabilities, I suspect the Harmony rermotes would work just fine.

In passing I would mention that the PS is not controlable directly by IR as it is a Blue-tooth device. There are after-market devices available to either convert IR to BT directly or to convert IR to a signal that will control via a USB dongle plugged into the PS3. I use an IR4PS3 with 100% satisfaction. Harmony has a similar device now, and there are others out there.

If I could find a source for the 890 PRO I would be happy. I've only been able to find 1 that was new in box and they wanted $399 for it and the RF extender. Too much of a premium for the remote.
