View Full Version : Unique problem - narrow projector recommendations?

I'm shopping for a projector for installation in a lift that has to fit between 2 beams in the ceiling that are exactly 19" apart. I'm willing to spend up to $5,000, but cost is a concern (the less spent, the better).

The projector lift I'm looking at is an SVS model (Mini 4-3), and it requires that the projector be no wider than 16" (including any cabling if side mounted). The JVC RS15 is 14.5" wide, so that would work fine. Most other projectors I've researched would be too wide. If the JVC is the gold standard, can anyone recommend other projectors less than 16" wide that would be less expensive?

Also, does anyone know of other projector lifts that can be installed in a space this narrow? Depth and height are not a concern, as there is an unfinished attic above.

Thanks!

Not many, but note on the JVC the inputs are on the side as well, so that will add width.

You can get 90 degree HDMI connectors and power cords. Won't take up too much, if any, extra width. Monoprice and partsexpress are two good sources.

They will certainly help, but it would still be pretty tight, especially if it will be moving on a lift (rubbing cables or such).
