The instruction manual does not address whether one can pause the dubbing onto a DVD from a tape - so that one can put another tape in and continue dubbing uninterrupted - as when one is converting several (short) home VHS videos onto one DVD. I want a nonstop recording.
Any help/instructions much appreciated!
pg. 36 of manual shows same as 2160... press Pause to pause rec, press Pause or Rec to restart rec. So, yes, that'll continue rec in one title made up of diff. sources.
Just don't use "One-Touch Timer Rec" which is where you press REC several times to add a specified time to record... can't pause one of those. Just use Play on source and REC on 450.

Forgive me for my ignorance (not as young as I used to be) - but when I press pause (in the dubbing mode) - it will pause both the tape and DVD? - or do I not use dubbing mode.
I ask this because one has the remote on "DVD" when starting the dubbing.
Much appreciated!

I guess another question should be - can I copy a tape NOT using the "dubbing" mode?
My 1st post assumed you were copying a VHS tape from an external player... wrongly I guess.
Now I think I understand that you're doing a "VCR>DVD Dub" using the internal VCR?
As you've already found, the manual doesn't say whether or not you can Pause an internal dub. Since D. Dubbing is initiated with a menu selection (VCR>DVD), I doubt that you can Pause after you press D. Dubbing, which auto-starts the copy/dub process. You might only be able to press Stop to stop the process.
You can always try the remote Pause button while on the DVD side, then press the VCR button, then Stop and eject the tape... not sure if that can be done but might be worth a try?
It might boil down to having to do it thru an external VCR played into one of the 450's inputs, which gives you much better control over a complex process like recording multiple segments from diff. tapes to a single DVD title???
