So I posted a while ago about a problem with my cable broadcasting in 5.1 but I've uncovered something new so I know where the problem lies.
Im using HDMI for the video signal but I have an older receiver so I have to use digital optical for the audio. The problem I've been having is that the cable won't broadcast in 5.1 for me. I was cleaning my TV today and I unplugged the HDMI cable but left the receiver on and my audio switch over to 5.1. So the problem is somewhere in the box. It's trying to use the HDMI cable to broadcast in 5.1 and is sending an analog signal to my receiver.
I already have the audio section set to digital on the box but it doesnt actually give me an option to switch between HDMI and digital optical....anyone know how to fix this? Thanks for helping.
