View Full Version : Berkline dealer with all models on display
mgoetze 10-25-09, 09:19 PM Anyone know of any stores that have all or at least a substantial number of Berkline HT seats on display. Especially their direct (made in China) line?
If so, please provide store name and city.
Thank you,
Mark

Laurel, Delaware. Tax free shopping. Middle of nowhere, you've gotta really want to go there. Largest in store display of Berklines I've ever seen, Can't say they had EVERY model.
MidLife 10-26-09, 10:23 AM That's Perdue chicken country! :D
South Delaware - if it aint growin chickens, it's a growin watermellon......:p
We pass through near there to the wonderful Delaware beaches!
That Johny J furniture store once was a chicken house! Now it's a 180,000 sq ft furniture store! :)

I think the chicken house building is still standing but the store in the picture is all new constriction. You almost need a golf cart to get around it is huge.
MidLife 10-26-09, 02:15 PM Johnny says it's been a chicken house! :D
"From a location on Market Street in downtown Laurel, they moved to Route 13 South into a former chicken house that was totally redone to house the major brands of beautiful, quality furniture that is still part of the present "Longest Store on the Shore with the Shortest Prices."
:p
BIGmouthinDC 10-26-09, 03:04 PM It makes for a good story.
In the picture in the upper left, I believe the original Chicken Coop is in the cluster of buildings in the upper left, the long skinny building, the new building is in the lower right.

mgoetze 10-27-09, 11:34 PM Must be more stores out there other than Delaware?? Not that I have anything against DE, was just hoping for something more major city / airport friendly.
If you've been to a store which had a good selection, not necessary ALL of them, but more than the usual 1-2 floor models, please let me know.
Thanks all.

I've been having the same problem up here in Canada.
We will likely not be going with Berk's, mostly due to the cost. But there is a furniture store called Ashley Furniture that has some really nice stuff. Online, they have likely 1000 different makes and models and such. We went to the biggest showroom in our area and they have about 50 - 60 available for butt testing. Which is understandable, they cant stock every single item but still.
When asked about the other models, we were told "well, order them and see if you like them I guess." Uhh thanks :P
BIGmouthinDC 10-29-09, 12:17 PM Just guessing but there has got to be somewhere you can see them in High Point NC. Also if you contact Berkline they may give you suggestions on dealers in your region.
I've contacted Berkline and they're almost useless. They only have three HT models in their own showplace in TN.
BIGmouthinDC 10-29-09, 02:30 PM OK, how about asking KenLerch. He routinely goes to the furniture show to see the new models. Maybe he knows someone inside the organization that can be more helpful than the idiots answering the phone. Imagine running any consumer company and someone calls and asks where can I see your product? If I were in charge................

KenLerch 10-29-09, 03:11 PM Here are a couple of suggestions:
1.) Try the dealer locator on Berkline's home page. Try that for local dealers, but call ahead to see what they have on their floor.
The problem you will likely find is that most dealers will only display 5 or 6 models on their floor- usually the most popular, the models they like or the ones they stock. I don't know of any store (including us that displays 6 Berkline models currently) that has the entire range of sku's represented. It may be out there, but I doubt it. It's just too expensive and floor space is usually at a premium.
2.) Instead of trying to see everything at once try to narrow down your selections first. Call or visit an informed reseller- someone that makes a point to go to the furniture market to look at new models and can recommend a few models based on your budget, height, desired features, space requirements, firmness, etc. You will be surprised how quickly your list gets whittled down to a few models once you consider those things.
I hope this helps you with your search for the proper seat.
