We just had Comcast upgrade one of our digital boxes to HD for a new Sony XBR8 46". The cable box they put in is the RNG110 - it is the cheapest looking piece of equipment I've ever seen, nothing like the grey Motorola box that was there before and that we have on our other high def TV. The Comcast installer indicated this is the "latest and greatest", but the equipment looks like junk and the high def picture is very poor. My questions are:
1. Is the RNG110 Comcast's latest and greatest, or did they just stick us with a low-end piece of junk
2. Any advice on getting better HD out of the RNG110? I just brought up the diagnostics, and the OOB signal level is red at -18 -- does the OOB signal affect high def picture quality?
