Dears,
i'd need some help from you experts in videoprojection, as i'm considering whether to buy or not a vp system
Background: the vp would be my main screen in-house, meaning that not only i would watch movies on it, but for example something lik CNN while having dinner or breakfast. Meaning, it would be installed in my living room, and we can certainly expect some light to be in. In circumstances , i would even probably look at it with the lights turned on, or with daylight in the house (like watching 10 min the tv in the morning).
Now, i've researched and i've clearly understood that this is certainly no good for projection, but as i have not yet had the chance to test and see for myself, i'd like to better understand whether a projector like the benq w6000, which is extremely bright, could allow me to use the screen also in non optimal situations. I'd use a screen size of around 90''.

Rest of my typical use is at night, watching movies or HD sport. Obviuosly i'm not looking for perfect colors or true-to-cinema performance, what really bothers me is understanding whether i'd be able to use the vp in a typical living room, at night, without having me sealed off the rest of the world!

Budget is 3-5k US$.

Thanks a lot for your advises!

Ciao,

Vanni

as long as the light isnt focused on the screen, in other words, the sun shinning through the window that is opposite the screen, you will get an image and the brighter the projector the better the image. Having a gray screen would also help

Consider a DNP Supernova screen, which is designed for lights-on viewing and can be used lights-off as well.

AVS could probably sell you one in sizes up to 120" diagonal.

There is also the Diamond II screen.
