Hi all,

So I have read all the threads regarding this issue and I'm still seeing conflicting info on whether or not this can be done, so I'm trying to get a definitive answer one way or another.

I am planning on buying my first Apple TV and plan on doing the ATV Flash hack to it...please no comments on doing it the free way..this is the way I'm going.

Anyway, I want to be able to stream AIF files wirelessly from one room where the ATV will be to another where my Airport Express will be near my stereo. I get solid wifi throughout the house so that is not an issue.

What is an issue is that I absolutely 100% do not want iTunes in this chain. I want to stream solely from the Apple TV to my Airport Express..if I can not do this then getting the Apple TV is a no go for me.

It looks like some people here have been doing it, but then I read other threads and postings on the internet saying it can not be done without iTunes involved in the chain. On top of that, the tech guys at ATV Flash are saying they did a test run and that it can not be done either. Who is right here?

Is there anyone out there that is actually doing this right now? I really need to get a solid answer as I'm starting to get paralysis from all the back and forth opinions!

If someone is doing this very thing can you tell me what the set up is and how I get the ATV to "see" my Airport Express if iTunes is not involved? Do I set up the relationship between iTunes and the Airport Express one time on my computer and then it's a done deal, even without iTunes running...kind of a "set and forget" deal?

Sorry for the long post but I'm tearing my hair out here trying to make a final decision. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Rob
